COSMETIC TATTOO AFTERCARE

The First Two Weeks

Immediately after your cosmetic tattoo/micro-blading procedure, you may experience slight skin sensitivity, redness and swelling; this shouldn’t last more than 1-2 days.

We recommend lightly applying a topical ointment, coconut oil, or an unscented lotion 2-3 times a day with a Q-tip or with clean fingertips (if you have oily skin, aftercare should not be applied more than once daily). Do not over-apply, simply keep the skin moist.

Avoid exposing the pigmented area to direct pressure in the shower, keep it out of the sun, do not apply ANY cosmetics to the tattoo, and avoid sweating for AT LEAST 10-14 days following the procedure.

What to Expect?

The tattooed area will be darkest right after the procedure. This can last up to a week. The colour will soften as it heals. There may be swelling, especially with eyeliner and lip tattoo, but discomfort should be minimal and feel like a sunburn.

An epithelial crust of dried pigment and fluid may form over the area in the first few days – don’t rub or pick it! This will result in a loss or distortion of colour, as will scrubbing or harsh cleansers. When this scabbing falls off naturally, there will be a period where the tattoo will look lighter. But you’ll soon see the true colour of the tattoo – within 6-8 weeks.

WHAT TO AVOID

No cosmetics should be applied to the tattooed area for at least 2 weeks. Do not use Vaseline, Neosporin or other petroleum based products while healing. Stick to topical ointments or unscented lotions. Do not apply anti-aging, anti-acne, or other facial products to the treated area.

No swimming pools, jacuzzis, or other bodies of water for at least 2 weeks following your procedure.

Avoid exposure to the sun. Over time, sun exposure can cause fading and colour change. So once your cosmetic tattoo is completely healed, you should always wear a sunscreen on the treated area, or products containing UVA/UVB shield, and sunglasses to protect eyeliner
